I finally have restored fresh scans of Danni Ashe, my first set ever of the "90s Queen of Slim'n'Curvy" (from THE Japanese 'BACHELOR' mag)! :O

I did a second Scanner Calibration before scanning this set, so the colors are as true to the print source as possible with my current scanner (I only let the scanner apply a calibrated color profile, everything else is handled in Photoshop, so I have full control of the final quality).

I included a BONUS image too....of Ayleen Lapper, from a very HQ glossy page...personally, I believe it is one of the best-looking scans I have released, so far.

Before your eyes hopefully will enjoy the final scans, I want to show a side-by-side comparison below, so you have an idea of the Scanner Calibration Results. Even though the Untouched scan to the left (before calibration) does not actually look that bad, the colors are more flat (or more "lifeless", if you will). The Calibrated scan in the center shows more true colors (and more shadow details), but has a slightly green color-cast which has been removed in the Retouched scan to the right.

2012.03.16 • 'Hana Haruna (春菜はな)' in BACHELOR April 2011 - BUSTY LINE-UP - Vol.35 No.4(Issue399) • Set 1 • 24 IMG

Now and then, I will make exceptions to this blog's focuse on Danish published material from the 70-90s, to spice things up a bit. :)

So, here is my first set of freshly restored scans of Hana Haruna (春菜はな), a cute, busty Japanese gravure model and Action Video (JAV) actress ('action' as in hardcore adult video!). This is also my first scans of a magazine published after 1999. :O

It's also my first scans of the Japanese glamour magazine BACHELOR. A mag, amazing in both printed quality and content! I have never seen its equal....totally a dream come true for me, regarding scanning. I have never seen restored scans come out as polished as this. And I hardly did anything. :O Then again, precision-scanning always takes time, to achieve a certain quality made possible by always following specific rules about scanning a certain kind of material and how you go about restoring it. I have never looked at scanning like an artform. But the more I take a step back and look at the scanning and restoration process, there can be so many layers to it and end results different than expected, based on the taken steps during the process. I believe the art lies in the restoration, no matter how good the printed quality is. So, I put several hours into being 100% satisfied with this set.

Hana herself might be a piece of biological art. She started her career as a swimwear model back in 2009. Then she shifted to some juicy HC action with censored (mosaic'ed) genitals. These scans contain no such action -- well, slightly on page 78 -- but rather slick glamour nude shots of a cute, natural dark-haired (both on top and below) model with unique looks and an unforgettable figure. To me, she somehow feels like this century's version of Anna Ohura...
